hi
i'm in my 2nd year of A-levels, i have applied for BSc in Physiotherapy and will be applying for a NHS Bursary.
What criteria to you have to fit to be eligible for a bursary?0 -
I'm still waiting for mine from the GSCC too.0

Whats the GSCC ?0

if you ring them you have to be prepared to try for at least half an hour and then when it finally rings be on hold for up to another half hour. bin there done that you do get to talk to someone eventually. they dont answer emails and the web site is next to useless.0

yes i got mine ontime, but a few people are still waiting
i think you can email them too aswell as ringing them
theres an article in nursingstandard about the delays0 -
have tried calling and have sent a snotty email  so i think there now going to make me wait even longer, it is not fair that you have to attend uni, buy books ect without any money. I have the loan but £600 is't going to last that much longer and i wont get anymore than that until January. Better tell the kids Santa wont be coming this year. ok rant over. at least if someone has got it there is still a glimmer it may come my way.

We graduate social work students have been told that we may not get our bursary until 16th December! We're not entitled to student loans, and are limited as to student accounts/overdraft facilities we can receive.
Basically, if I wasn't working part time, I'd be screwed. I'd have to leave the course, no question. It's ridiculous. Despite having fulfilled all the GSCC's criteria, getting everything handed in on time, we still have to wait until 3 months after the course began to get any money!
Oh, and they expect us to pay £10 to register with them too, as we can't go on placement until we've registered.

The NHS student grants unit are impossible to contact on the general number. If you contact your student union advice centre, they should have direct numbers to contact the processing teams and they can chase it up on your behalf. If you are unhappy about how they have managed your application, make a complaint to the customer services manager - everyone needs to do this as the system needs to change.0
