Renault Laguna 2 Problem
My Laguna has developed a steering problem over the last 3000 miles, at low speeds (30mph) on local roads it is very twitchy and sensitive to what seems even the smallest imperfection in the road surface, on motorways it is much the same - it does'nt want to go in a straight line, the suspension (top) bearings have been changed, 4 wheel steering alignment and tracking / balancing have been checked.
It is not predictable, I dread to think what it will feel like on wet roads - it feels like it wants to "step out", I have noticed that when I change gear at higher speeds that it "feels" that it wants to move sideways, I know it could be many things but I am thinking it could be wheel bearing wear, anybody got any other ideas, I dont want to be throwing money (MSE style) at the problem to get it sorted.
I've had the car for 18 months and it has never felt remotely like this.
Any ideas please - Many Thanks

Renault's are prone to top mounts failing, but you've had them done. Laguna's are also prone to suspension spring failure, so check these too.
Also have you checked your typre pressures recently?0 -
This sounds like what would be described as tramlining to me.0

Google "parkers forum" and discover about a million other things that can go wrong with Renaults. It's under the ownership ordeals section. You may even find a solution there?
No offence to the OP, but I got rid of my 1st, and very definately last, Renault last year.0 -
HI did you ever find out what was wrong as my car is doing exactly the same - various mechanics say they have never seen anything like it and all want to change different parts. Only started after a new track rod end and balljoint were fitted (I think that they were parts but I need to check paperwork I don't have to hand) Thanks0

Poppy, it could just be it isn't tracked correctly or a worn bush on the wishbone.Cheaper to just replace the wishbone than the bush as they are only £25 or so plus a couple of hours to fit them.0
