People create these emails to see how far they can get around the internet. They dont crash your computer, spy on your bank details or delete your files, but they are still a virus. The OP's friend has helped to spread that virus, and the OP sort of has too. However I think that the OP has done the right thing by posting it in here, as it has meant that it hasn't been forwarded on AGAIN, and peeps reading this will know it's a hoax, and the spread won't continue.
A really good thing to do about emails like this, and AOL donating money for each forward, some new virus, is just to google the title of the email, this will often show a discussion about it being a hoax, and you needn't annoy your friends with junk mail. It will also make the internet faster with less trash flying around it :-)

Do you really think MS would can the most popular IM client on the net after trouncing all of the competition and losing the revenue that is generated from it?

    Ignore all these foolish posters.

Microsoft is closing down; after two decades of trying unsuccessfuly to plagiarise the operating systems of its principal competitor it has given up.

The action you need to take is to bin your computer immediately and go to your nearest Apple retailer or Apple Retail store and purchase a new one.

Look into W.H.Smiths on the way and see if they have any dictionaries on special offer.

It would be wise for you to stay at home and do nothing every April 1.

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

If you follow the link in the hoax email, and look in the "related stories," section at the right hand side, there's another story with details of the prank.

There to look up "comma" and "full stop", as well, no doubt. :D

Alas, my own problem is less with spelling than with with eyesight.

    Moorfields :heart2: .

At least I managed to spell "plagiarise" right. Does nobody else, here?
