This unfortunately is not a wrong transaction as far as the bank is concerned. You could have sent the money for any reason and really has nothing to do with the bank.

If however you bought through EBay you can claim there see the help section.

1-1.5 weeks is not long to wait. Delivery from Singapore normally takes about 14 days but could be 3 weeks. It might also be in customs in the UK.

    Where did you buy from?

Like Hintza says imported goods from Singapore might take some time to arrive especially as customs might be interested..did you make any arrangements for VAT and duty (as appropriate) on importing from overseas?

Also, and again as Hintza says the bank can't help you as you made a transfer voluntarily, there has been no error on their part. If this does turn out to be a scam then I can't see anyway at all for you to get your money back.

One question though, when you spoke to the satisfied customer did you trace that customer yourself or did the guy in Singapore put you in touch with him? It is fairly common in a sting operation to put potential victims in touch with so called satisfied customers to reassure them all is well, when in fact the satisfied customer is their brother in law or something and gets a cut of the scam.

Anyway, it is early days yet so keep trying to contact Singapore and if you dealt through ebay contact them via their dispute mechanism as you may be covered for a very small part of the loss (but only about £105).

Please tell us how you get on as others here might have more suggestions for you.

Just out of interest, how did the seller "look" trustworthy? What's the seller's name? Why did you decide on Bank transfer and not Paypal?
