Apple Laptop Unfit for Purpose

I just posted that to bug some mac heads, my apologies couldn't help my self:D.
Though I stand by the bit about the laptop you'd get for the same price.0 -
Oh, you'd get a great laptop, no doubts there. The OP already has a great laptop though, if only it would work.0

If only heh;-}0

This is why it's wise to not be an early adopter but to wait and buy only when experience (others', to be blunt) has shown that there isn't a problem with the specific model that you want to buy. (And that applies to everything.)
With regard to what an Apple computer costs to buy, my last four Apple laptops have all been purchased from (very) carefully selected sellers on eBay and I paid for them only after inspecting them thoroughly in person. All of them were winners. And bargains.
If you go about it properly you can get a beautiful Apple laptop for less than the price of a Windows machine.
But achieving that involves doing serious research instead of spending your time going into computer retailers and wasting everybody's time by trying to win petty arguments that achieve nothing.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
