Why not look at adventure hols aimed at singles such as Exodus or Spice? You'd join a very sociable group and do things you may not do alone. This wouldn't be the cheapest way but may kick start your social life (not that you say this is needed!)

Not sure if either is doing America but there should be lots of choice.

you can go quite far on 1k. OH & I spent a fortnight in Malawi with safari for that. Was literally the most beautiful place to go, and a cracking time of year to head down there as they aree heading into the dry season.

I dont tihnk the states is out of range. I would get a copy of lonely planet on a shoestring form the library & get an idea f costs. you could grey hound around, on a flight of 400 this would till give you 600 to play with which would go quite far.

I personally wouldnt bother paying for these escorted tours, my mates have been on them and say its the 5 minutes at a monument then off to continue the tour - constant rotaing of time. I wouldnt feel happy with that - but if you like that sort of thing. I found an escorted tour that was similar to a trip we did ( the only difference was being escorted to places that were easy to get to anyway etc) and was about 1500 more than what we spent.

I'm baffled: how and why would one hire some Thai/Vietnamese ladies who are not of the night? As instructors in the martial arts?
  • how much are flights out there? 600 quid?

martial arts trainers sound even more kinky
