Saw some mini potted rose plants the other day, beautiful vibrant colours and I was tempted to pick some up, just not certain whether they were hardy enough to plant outside. Anyone?

It might just have been mine but I bought a couple of these last year and they weren't really rose bushes, when I got them out of the pot they were just three separate stalks. They did ok outside though.

  • I've just noticed last week we have a 99p store now where I think there was a home bargains, how do they compare to poundland is it the same sort of things from the posts I've quickly looked at it looks as if they might be better than poundland. Or should I just swing by both when I actually get into town.
I did see fruit bushes ( blackberries ) but it looked like a bare stick so hesitated in buying but I'm in town tomorrow so if anyone had bought them can you let me know if they grew.
Thanks this thread looks really helpful

Subscribing to this thread. I don't often go into the 99p store as it's little and my toddler tries to grab everything off the shelf :rotfl: I'm willing to brave it for some bargains though!

I usually keep potted roses indoors as a houseplant to start off and then transfer them to the garden when they have finished flowering. I think it is a little too early to put them straight into the garden for fear of frosts. My one looked beautiful the following year and looks quite healthy this year. A good price at 99p I got mine in morrisons for £1 (half price)
