Hello everyone.. what a great thread, such talented sock monkey makers. I'm not quite there yet, but i have made a soctopus!

someone mentioned buying cheap cushions from a market and using the stuffing from them.....
- Poundland sell single pillows for.. well, £1. you can cut those open and use the stuffing inside those aswell. cheaper than buying it from craft shops.
- you could use cotton wool too.
- or beans for a beanie monkey!

Help!!! My dd has asked me to make baby's first socks into a sock monkey - not to play with tho just as a decoration. Has anyone made tiny ones? and can they post a pic so I can have a look - thanks guys.

I made one in first born socks and it was so fiddly that I couldnt do another, it's sitting on my dresser. They are so cute tho....hmmmm must resist!
