Getting cash out of my Barclaycard? Need advice ASAP.

OK, I need to either write a cheque against my Barclaycard, or transfer money from my BC into my current a/c so I can write a cheque against that account.

Is this possible?

How do I do it?

If not possible - how do I get funds to a private person? Will I have to make several cash withdrawals and load them into my a/c?

If you have to make a cash withdrawal (I take it you know about the fees and how the interest racks up?) then IMO make one cash withdrawal at the bank where your main account is (take id with you even if they know you) and pay it as cash straight into your account.
You are then free to transfer the cash by whichever method you want to the third party.

Certainly when I needed to do this with first direct I just called them up.

I don't know whether you can do the same by calling Barclaycard.

Do you bank with Barclays, otherwise the transfer might not be immediate.

Is it worth asking your main bank for an overdraft? This might be cheaper than the cash advance fees from a credit card.
