Laptop Graphics Card?

I was just wondering if it would be possible for me to update my laptop's graphics card? It's just a new laptop but he did mention when i bought it that the only problem was the graphics card wasn't very good.

And well, it isn't. I don't really know anything about laptops, I've always had a PC until now.

You'll probably get more help if you say what make and model of laptop you have!

Most laptops don't have a separate graphics card and can't be upgraded, but a few can these days.

only on the high end laptops (alienware etc)can you change the graphics card and they are VERY expensive compared to a PC graphics card

should have bought a pc if its gaming you want to do otherwise the graphics card will be perfectly adequate for normal use (ie internet/office work/films etc) so i wouldn't worry

do you not still have your PC? as that would be very easy to upgrade....all depends on what games you play

Probably the answer will be "NO"
There are a few laptops that have a removable Video Cards, but they are usually specifically made for that type of laptop and you will probably will not get a better Video Card.

But it all depends on the make and model!

Oh ok, thanks for the replies. I don't really play games other than maplestory when I'm very very bored. Just wanted to be able to watch films, etc.

What's the issue? Even the cheapest laptops can run video to some degree, it's probably not graphics card related. Flip it over and post back the Make and Model of it and we can take it from there.

Any laptop these days will play DVD's and downloaded movies with no problems.
