Iv'e just aquired a Serpi Star remote car alarm and immobiliser.
I have the cooking destructions, but not all the wires are listed, and there are a few that are listed that aren't on the loom....
Before you go looking on the net for a solution let me just save you some time...........
The brain is a Serpi Star GR 44. I have most of the wiring down, apart from just a couple of wires.
Also the Starter Disable, has five wires. Earth, feed from the brain and two thicker wires, which I'm presuming are the starter soleniod break. The fifth has been teminated near the unit, and I'm presuming this is dead. What I would like to know though, is there any orientation on the soleniod break, or can they be wired either way.
The remote central locking is tested and working fine, as for the rest, it's going to be pot luck.......
Any help or suggestions, I can post links to wiring diagrams as soon as I have taken pics.

From this website: http://www.mvi-services.co.uk/alarms.php they appear to be Thatcham rated, but couldn't find an accurate listing anywhere independent...0

The solenoid disable leads are likely to be connected to isolated relay contacts, so polarity not important. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
OK thanks espresso, this make my life much easier.
Do either of you guys have a carnal knowlege of alarm sytems?
The reason I ask is because there are a few things on the alarm that are confusing me, would there be a switch somewhere that turns off the arm/dissarm signal to the siren. Also there is a grey/yellow wire that has been terminated at the plug and moved to a different position on the plug.
The wiring description for the yellow/gray is "Opional passive connect to Neg. If required. Isolate" where it has been moved, it has been connected to the start disable. To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
Talk about jobsworth.......................
I spent all day yesterday installing my remote alarm system with ultrasonic and shock sensors, three point immobiliser, anti tamper doors, boot and bonnet, and because it was not fitted by an approved installer, they will not reduce my insurance. They wont even reduce it if I get a inspection certificate from an approved installer.............
I can tell you now, what I am thinking, would most probably get me baned from every forum ever created...........
But at least my car is safe.........:rolleyes:To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
I think you have dropped yourself in it, What if your car was stolen and the alarm did not work, you expect the insurance to pay out in full? I'm with the insurance company with this one.

You seem like a capable guy M8, I'll tell you what, your welcome to try and break into the car if you like, if you dont set off the alarm I will give you the log book "quote me". Thats how confident I am of my ability.
