    hi

I sent a complaint to debenhams after taking some bras back, one of the women who was asked by her supervisor to measure me for a replacement was extreemly rude with things she said to me including "you have a narrow back considering!" and "i dont know why im bothering to measure you, i wont have any bras your size!"

i left as soon as i could and was very embarased!

aparently its been dealt with and they all getting retraining. not good enough for me tho. im so embarased i wont be going there again!

:( sorry didnt know where on forum to put this. do you think i should expect some sort of compensation for my embaracement cos my mil thinks so :S
  • sorry pp makes me sound like a greedy cow but i have body issues and what she said to me was awfull.

Oh dear! That's really horrible. Call up debenhams, give them all the names and details you can. I hope they aren't insulting others too, they certainly need to be retrained!
  • thanks,
Ill tell the whole details (couldnt type much last night, had poorly hubby asleep next to me)
I went in to take back 2 bras which had both broken within a few (3 at most ) wears. one broke on my wedding day within a few hours of wearing it! the lady serving me was very polite and got her supervisor and she said to exchange one and i could either have refund or exchange on the other. i said i would like another so supervisor said for them to fit me for another (i needed a fitting because she said i must of been incorrectly fitted for one by the way it broke) as soon as she said this the nasty lady went in a huff. supervisor left and then the other lady said, "come on then" and just pointed to a room, then she was huffing n puffing and said other things that i posted above. i have huge body issues and the things she said and the way she looked at me was disgusting and all i get is a measly email!
ive had an email off them saying:

I was very sorry to hear of your experience in the **** store recently.
We make every effort to offer our customers exceptional customer service.
Unfortunately in this instance we seem to have failed to achieve this.
Rest assured as a result of this incident the member of staff concerned has been identified and we have investigated this incident as a result we are now in the process of retraining the whole team on the standards expected.
I would once again like to apologise for the service received and hope this does not deter you from shopping with us in the future.

The person who wrote this couldnt even be bothered to put a subject in the email line. I just feel after what she said to me that a written letter would of been the least they could do.

I wont be able to go back into the store as im so embaraced about it and know for sure i will be recognised. i just feel so angry about it. i would never dream of saying anything like that to anyone.

    c xx

  • Hi, I'm new here but have been lurking. Heres a list of companies I've contacted in the past or recently and their responses:

Clarins - request for advice, they told me to ask in store

Liberty of London - same as above

Gu - compliment, lovely thank you letter and info about new ranges

Options - compliment, promise of 'some samples' which sounds exciting!

Jane Iredale - request for advice, I'm being forwarded to a UK consultant so who knows...

Boots - complaint that a No 7 nail polish was much thinner than usual, they are sending out a gift card to cover the cost of it and investigating

Sisely - email asking for consultation questions to be answered

Also a while ago I had a problem with service in a shirt company who sent me a free shirt worth £85 as a gesture of good will.

I'm still waiting for a few replies but it's lovely hearing back from companies you genuinely like :o

Its possible that if you provided postal details when you first contacted them that they may post you something out. otherwise it looks like they have closed the book. You could always email back and tell them that it has deterred you from shopping in that particular store and u will be shopping elsewhere in future (could suggest a dif department store john lewis or something)
