Goodbye Mr Skint

Why is Mr Skints last thread closed with no explanation?
Seems to me there was no libelous or abusive comments, no swearing or any other reason for this type of draconian action.
We are asked to treat other users with respect on this site, seems to me that the contributers to a thread deserve the same treatment.

I think it's beause the thread was starting to look like it was going to get very b!tchy - just like some very similar related threads that have popped up since....0

But an explanation surely isn't too much to ask for.
Just don't like being treated as if we are children.
Can't be the thread I subscribed to, nothing b!tchy in that one.0 -

Im afraid a justification is too much to ask for.
There is no right or wrong on the forums. There is sometimes just expediency. We get hundreds of abuse comments a day to deal with. Sometimes in non-MoneySaving discussions the easiest route to protect the sites resources is to close a thread.
If we say "it was closed for reason x or y" we then get a discussion started with some agreeing the reasons and others disagreeing, which can then be worse than the original thread. I'm sorry it works this way but this is about looking after a broad church of users with limited resources
