Continuing Healthcare Funding
I know you have tried the Continuing Healthcare route and have run into the usual blocking from the PCT assessment process. Having had a look at your brief description of your Mum's condition I would have thought she would have qualified as she would score high or above on a number of the assessment criteria in the new framework and Decision support tool introduced in October last year.
Could I ask:
Have you taken the matter to the Strategic Health Authority, they will review the PCT's decision?
Have you involved a specialist solicitor? If not I could suggest one who will look at the case to date (free) and advise if they think the case is worth persuing (PM me if you want a name).
It took us almost 12 months to get a successful retrospective CHc assessment approved for my MIL and she is not at death's door although she does have a number of interacting degenerative medical conditions.0
