Home and Contents insurance halved!

Just a quick post to show the value of this website!
I have just given some attention to my home and content insurance after looking at my utilities, mortgages etc.
I have used the same insurance company for the past 12 years, and had never bothered to check to see if the renewal amount could be bettered. I have just changed my policy to another company and have got the same cover, for exactly half my previous annual amount.

(By the way, I have always used local council mot stations as the best way to make sure you are not being ripped off by garages and must recommend people do this)
