Nothing mentioned so far has been particularly low on insurance. If that's a major factor then I'd consider a Clio or a Punto (bottom of the range). Anything with a "boy racer" image is going to cost a lot more. Can I help?0

I would definatley go for a Punto, they go on and on for years and as long as you get the standard ones they are in Group 2 or 3 insurance. My sister has an R reg one, and not to jinxs her she has had it for 6 years and not had to replace anything other than break pads, the odd bulb and of course tires.
They dont rust anymore than any other car these days, and are roomy enough inside and most importantly if you are driving a lot they have very good fuel consumption and are in the lower car tax bracket so its saving all the way if you ask me"!.0 -

I would agree, i picked up a two and 1/2 year old one for 3.5k, very cheap to run and has been good so far, i have had other fiats in the past and never had a problem.
My BIL is 6/5 and fits in the Punto just.
I have done 12,000 miles in the punto in 6 months (as use if for work and get 40p per mile) and its going well.
