I recently bought a new computer and I am trying to set up my e mail account in microsoft outlook but to no avail. I have set up the account with the same details as on my old PC. The problem is I can not recieve any e mails.
When I test the setttings I get the following message:Unable to log on to the incoming server (POP3).
I wonder if this has something to do with firewall or anti virus. I used to use zone alarm and the Free AVG. However the computer came with Norton.
Please help!!!!!

Who is your email with?0

it could be your settings.
if you are with Freeserve for example your settings would be
In Outlook Express click TOOLS, ACCOUNTS then PROPERTIES (you say the account is already there) On the SERVERS tab you should have (and remember this is for Freeserve)
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server
Incoming mail POP3 pop.freeserve.com
Outgoing mail SMTP smtp.freeserve.com
make sure your account name and password are correct.
your server will have their own POP and SMTP details if that is how they operate. Maybe that a quick phone call to them would sort it or someone on this forum who has same server could give your their settings to input.
