Feeling a little dowm hearted with comps at the min, 1st win was a fantastic 32" hdtv from the morrisons txt comp it was also the 1st comp i entered back in March i wasn't quite sure how these things worked but sent my txt off, didnt enter any more till i got the phone call saying i'd won.....great i thought this is a piece of cake so i started enering all the comps ending 1s and haven't won a thing since
so my question is do u think it is better to enter the comps wen they're posted or stick to the comps ending thread? wen u'v won is through a comp u entered early on or wen it was ending? probs sounds like im an ungrateful moo but i love entering comps i just feel like im wasting my time??

Hello,
I don't normally have time to reply to many threads but felt compelled to answer this!!
Don't get dispondant - to be honest you were really lucky with your first win, i started comping last January and didn't win a prize until April and it was only a DVD!
Since then i have been getting a few steady one's - some small and some quite big and nice, it does take time and patience but you're time will come!! (People on this forum assured me of that when i first started but i didn't believe them at the time!)
I tend to only enter via the comps ending threads adn the dailies, simply because i don't have time to go through all the pages. I have won a few prizes this way (my last four at least) - although as you will notice some do finish early and you will miss them via this route.
I hope that helps, keep it up - your next prize is round the corner!!
:j2011 wins so far: Radio Deal package worth £600
Best prizes ever:
Two flights to Tokyo & a years supply of Gas and Electric !!!
Thanks to everyone that posts! :beer:0 -
Wow your first win was amazing! Dont give up, I bet you have some wins you dont even know about yet!
I always do the comps ending lists and have been quite lucky so far. 0 -
it shouldnt all be about winning
its about enjoying something you do
comping to me is a hobby and enjoy it but i do get tired of it sometimes
just like anything
imagine it like being a football team you enjoy playing but you dont always win
look at chelsea for a start0 -
I do go through the pages but only click on the comps I want to win or with prizes I can usefully give as presents to family. Once I've entered the comp, I click on the thanks button so I can see whether I've entered it or not. Then, I use the comps ending thread as a double check - it takes a few seconds to click on a thread and you can see really quickly if you've entered the comp or not by looking at the comps thread. Again, I go through and only look at the things I want to win rather than go through anything.
I enter some of the daily comps but again, only if it's something I want to win or can make use of. I don't see the point in entering a comp for something I don't want nor anyone I know might want.
I think you had a bit of beginner's luck there as it's purely random selection for most of the draws. I haven't won much in 6 weeks of comping but enough to keep my interest going - for now. It's easily something you can drop for a while and then start up again - I missed a week in early July due to family commitments and other things going on, came back and entered some of the ones I wanted to enter but have picked up the rest via the comps ending thread.

I don't enter many DVD ones but I do enter a few - mainly children's ones. Maybe it's just me but there doesn't appear to be a lot coming out on DVD atm that I am interested in.
I do enter a lot of comps but obviously, more comps end at the end of the month/a Friday than other days. I counted on the comps ending thread last night and I'd entered 20 comps - but 3 of those were the 30 entries for This Morning, the 20 entries for Real Deal and the 5 for GMTV. PLUS there are about 5 daily comps I always enter. (After one of those FrostyJacks ipods, dangnabbit.... I'm close enough to Preston to go and collect one.
)

Nah, if chelsea played comps they would buy the prizes wouldn't they!? lol j/k chelski fans
I've been entering comps since middle of July last month and won a DVD & a cheque for 5 squid. I find that people shouldn't get there hopes up when entering comps.
I enter them on a daily basis for something to do and it can range from entering 20-30 a day upto about 200 or more.
As for winning i think its all luck of the draw......you win some but mainly lose most but its all about taking part because if you didn't u would have zero chance of winning :rotfl:
I know from doing comps afew years ago is that you might have won something but it can take awhile for the item to arrive without you know that you have won something
those are the wins that you enjoy hehehe
As for your first win on the TV congrats :TJust Remember What Ol' s0ulassassin Does When The Earth Quakes, & The Poison Arrows Fall From The Sky, & The Pillars Of Heaven Shake.
