Chocolate for chocolate fountain

I bought a chocolate fountain for our upcoming wedding but where do I get the chocolate for it from?Don't think I can use 'normal' tesco's or aASDA's stuff - doesn't it need to be be a bit waterier?

Cadbury's and a drop of sunflower/olive oil. There are guides for how much chocolate to use but in ours (well my wifes ;) ) she used 750g of normal chocolate, heated it over a pan and added a teaspoon of oil and was plenty enough for about 15 of us with some left over...

    HTH :)

In Tesco or ASDA baking section, you get huge big slabs of their own brand chocolate for about 50p (the cake covering type) - mix with a spoonful of oil and it'll last for ages - if it's for a wedding, with lots of guests, you might want to buy quite a few bars.
A friend of mine had this at her wedding, but had two fountains, one with milk, one with white chocolate - delicious!!!!
She used all sorts of 'dippers' ranging from custard creams, grapes, banana, strawberries, marshmallows etc. She used cocktail sticks instead of skewars - saves people taking too many dippers at once.
  • Thorntons sell the chocolate to go in the fountains too.
  • I use the normal stuff and add a wee bit of oil and its all good! :)

Tasty, Yum.... No Im on a diet!

    Thanks for the replies.

I shall mix 50% tesco's cheapie chocolate with 50% Cadburys chocolate, a tiny splash of contriou and a little vegetable oil.

Do I leave this to set overnight?
Will it stay runny enough to pour in the fountain?

Woah before you do, check out this recipe from our Baileys choc fountain for something a bit special ;)

Melt 200g of milk choc into 200ml of double cream, in a saucepan over a low heat. Gradually stir in 5cl Baileys and add 2 tbs of hazelnut oil. Then pour mix into the fountain.

We also dunk brownie chunks and bread sticks..............at a wedding add a NO double dipping rule!! ;) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
