Most business tariffs, with most major suppliers are all fixed term. British Gas (unlike some other suppliers) charge more for existing customers who 'roll over' their contract, so if you've been with them a while, then you'll definately be better off switching. However, as the previous (very commercial plug!) post alluded to, you are likely be in contract (this is the case, because as you are with British Gas, you must switched at some point - unless you took over the supply from a previous tenant, in which case you will be on 'deemed' rates, and that really will be expensive)
Find out from British Gas what your contract status is, and then shop around. Sometimes BG then price match your better offer, but their contract terms are so restrictive (you need to give notice 90 days prior to leaving, and my mum's buisness gave this, by recorded delivery, and they still claimed to have not recieved it, and tried to lock in for a further year! - not that we let them get away with it) I would definately leave for a different supplier.0
