Travelling To Old Trafford

Am taking my DS to watch Man. Utd V Juventus at old trafford tommorrow (as of course he's a Ronaldo fan).Am thinking of booking into the North Car Park (?) as we have seats in the North stand.Does anybody recommend this Car Park as easy to get to ?Will be getting up there mid-afternoon as have been told the Imperial War museum is very impressive ( and free ?).Am travelling up from Nottingham for the day and was just going to look for the Old Trafford signs and look for the North Car Park signs.Obviously , as an avid MSE'r , will be looking for bargains and money-saving , although as its my little lads birthday treat will try not to be too much of a skinflint !!!:rotfl:
Any advice or tips would be appreciated

if you park there I would imagine that it will take you quite a while to get away from the ground afterwards.
Have been to Old Trafford as an away supporter on numerous occasions, as well as for a Cup Semi Final match and England match and the area surrounding the ground obviously gets very busy.
There are places to park slightly further away from the ground which would be far better for you getting away afterwards. The other side of the Cricket Ground might be a better option as you are then quite close to the Motorway junction as well.0 -
Just to confirm the Imperial War Museum is free. We went about a month ago and passed a few hours there. Not sure how long an under 10 would want to spend there though (depending on their interests of course).
Don't miss the lookout point in the museum(turn left at the entrance door and go up in the lift, its free too). You will then have a great view of the football ground!
Can't help you with the parking, don't watch big teams (just our local one!).

Depends on which way youre going after the game. If your going south towards the M60, I would park at National Tyres opposite the Bishops Blaize, if youre heading into the city centre, park around next to the Trafford pub...0

hi
we went to see man utd pompey in the fa cup. we parked in the north car park. it took us THREE HOURS to get out of the car park!!!
we are going tomorrow, but we are parking in the city centre at piccadilly and getting the tram in.

Lucky Lady - who do you support?
You go United but your sig says "Come on you Hammers!"0 -
If I were one of these 'football tourists' who fawn over ManUre I would park at Ladywell tram station car park, near Eccles. The tram goes via the IWM and the Lowry at the Quays as well as that stadium (forget its name;)).
If he's a fan of Ronaldo the Show Pony, the lad will be well disappointed as he certainly won't be playing!:rolleyes:0 -
ticket holder at Old Trafford.
The best place to park is on the Hilti Car Park just outside OT.
It is behind the Golden Tulip hotel which is opposite the North Stand.
It is £5 but they do not block you in like other car parks, you get away quickly after the game whichever way you go and if it rains, its only a two min run to the car!
If you are sitting in the Stretford End then keep my seat warm for a week on Sunday!0 -

Are you Noel/Liam Gallagher ?:rotfl: Or Ricky Hatton ?:rotfl:
We're both Forest season ticket holders , but the little fella likes the Ronaldo thing.Although I must say I've always prefered Utd to Liverpool , Arsenal and Chelsea.
Thanks very much for the parking tip , downloaded a map and looks a good place to park. The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
