Quote for fixing boiler

My boiler has broken down (a standard heating one, Potterton Nettaheat Electronic 6/10) and engineer has been to have a look and says it's the control unit that needs fixing.
He's quoted me £144 (including VAT) for new unit and £100 labour on top. Is this a fair quote? Literally have no idea at all, and if anyone reckons can be done cheaper please let me know.
I'm in south London area (SW2) if there are also any recommendations.
Many thanks

British Gas do fix priced repairs for £160 inc all parts. Have a look in their website, that would work out better in your case.0
