Fuming!!!

Hi,

I'd read threads from people complaining about being given negative feedback and thought what's the big deal? Until this morning when I got my first (and second!) ever neg!!!

Buyer emailed me to say he was going to neg me for my rip off prices - he bought two items from me a month ago. Here's the bit that really winds me up.... they weren't even BiN he won them both in an auction!!! So he's chosen the price to pay and now he's negged me for it!! (Actually even if it was BiN I'd still be annoyed!)

Unfortunately, being a nice trusting soul I'd already left him positive feedback. Anyway, I've responded to his feedback (politely and factually), and I've added a follow up to my own feedback. Suffice to say it's the last time I leave feedback first (for a buyer anyway).

Guess there's no more I can do but like I said.....FUMING!

(Sorry just had to moan to someone!)

And people wonder why sellers wait till after the buyer has left feedback to leave theirs.

I think its the best way all round. Once the seller knows the buyer is satisfied and received their item, then they can leave theirs.

When I first started out I got negged by a miserable buyer who said she had paid too much for a dress.
She too won it an auction!!!
Sad but true, this is why most sellers don't give feedback first because of ignorant buyers out there!!

If I'm selling I always wait until the buyer has left feedback until I leave theirs. Then they can't pull a stunt like this one and get away with it. But if I'm the buyer I leave feedback as soon as I receive the item.

Have you thought of requesting mutual feedbackl withdrawal? the other party may agree to it!

    Why he's got a positive.....

Might be worth a try though. Main thing though is to block him from bidding again on any other auctions you might run.

... you can 'respond to feedback' and point out that it was an AUCTION that they bid on. if your remaining feedback is good, potential buyers will see through it.

    Hi,

Thanks for all replies - I've calmed down a bit now!

TBH I can't see the point of asking for mutual withdrawl of feedback, afterall he's got his positive. Also, I really don't want to have to make contact with this idiot - it will just wind me up again!!

I did state in my follow-up that it was an auction and he chose to bid, so hopefully future bidders will see who's in the wrong! Also, in his negative feedback he did say it was a nice item (before saying "rip off prices"!!).

So, I've done all I'm going to do about this (though I'd LOVE to be able to report him if he infringes any of Ebay's policies!!).

Easy to see how these sort of things can escalate I guess (I'm usually very easygoing!) I wonder if ther have been any murders caused by Ebay disputes???
