Fridge puddle

I keep getting a puddle in the bottom of the fridge section of our fridge-freezer. I've tried mopping it up and it comes back every time. I've also tried adjusting the temperature but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestions?

Most modern fridges now have sealed in chiller plates at the rear of the fridge compartment. These defrost themselves regularly by warming up for a short time. The ice melts and the water runs down into a drainage gulley. There is a hole in the drainage gulley that can be easily blocked over time by small pieces of food. Get a long piece of moderately stiff wire and poke it down the hole to try and clear the blockage. A tray on top of the compressor unit (the big black bottle) catches the water and it evaporates with the heat generated from the compressor.
If you continue to have trouble then pull the F/F out and watch the wire going down the tube to ensure it is clear of debris. The tubes are often clear plastic.
I have a relative who has a F/F which had a problem with water around the back.
This was caused by the dish on top of the condensor rusting through!
We broke the old dish off and "Araldited" a replacement which was a small aluminium baking dish. I first dented the bottom of it to "dish it" so that it contacted the top of the condensor over a larger surface area.
Another tip:
Ensure no items in the fridge touch the back plate otherwise not only can they freeze but water can drip off them and onto the shelves!Keep Smiling

I put a drinking straw into my drainage hole when I have this problem as any debris in the way goes up the tube and comes out when I remove the straw.0
