Hiya all
I have just been connected to BT Broadband and am totally confused. I am not receiving friends e mails and have problems registering and logging in to other web sites.
What does it mean when it says 'Bad Parameter not validated'? How do I resolve that issue?
I think I opted for e mails via Outlook, now my granddaughter tells me I shouldnt have done that as I have Windows xp for that, is that where the problem is do you think as BT use |Yahoo messenger- I am totally confused.
Please help!

when it says 'Bad Parameter not validated'
What is the "it" that gives you this error message? I.e. what are you doing when the message appears?
You should be able to use Outlook no problem to retrieve your emails - just follow the instructions on BT's website on configuring Outlook.
Windows XP has the Outlook Express email client installed by default, but if you have Outlook as well then I would use that - it's much more functional.0 -

Did you change from another internet company to BT?
If so your old emails will still be sent to the old address. I presume you
have a new email address with BT now?
So you would need to sort out the change of address.
You could so this by informing your friends etc of you new address.
There might be away of getting the email forwarded from your old ISP
to your new address, but I am not to sure about that.
You see there is a way of accessing your emails online I think, rather than
having them sent to your computer. I think this called IMAP as opposed
to POP3. POP3 is what I and most people use, the email sent to you
and you read it with Outlook Express or similar newsreader.

Also you can also have other email accounts online such as with yahoo or hotmail,
which you should be able to access online. I am not too sure of your situation.
[Edit] I think it should be possibe to access you old email account online somehow
and login to read your mail. Maybe you could chek with your old ISP.0 -
