When my Gran died her house was bought by someone who was going to let it out. The buyer wanted my Dad to either have the tiles removed or drop the price as the chap said he couldn't let it out with the tiles on the ceiling.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

the polystyrene tiles in focus say on them that they are flame retardant, so i dont think that they can be any danger at all. if they were a fire hazard they wouldnt sell them, or polystyrene coving surely?0

^ I'm curious about this too - I recently realised that the ceiling in my lodger's bedroom is made out of polystyrene but it's not the old tiles, it's sheets of the stuff that have been put there (recently, judging by paintwork) instead of plasterboard. And I'm also hoping to put up some polystyrene coving from Homebase..?
If the material is considered so dangerous, why would it be so commonly sold and without warning labels? Not that such a thing is impossible, but perhaps a modern solution has been found..?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
