thats doesnt effect searches though... type in paddington and u get paddington tube and train... type on kings st pancras and u get the same...

i dont see how you can get 'mind boggling' results, considering its only two places with a variety of links...
Absolutely. St Pancras to Paddington (with no changes), the answer will always be the same; Circle or, Hammersmith and City line, westbound. The London Underground map is clear on this matter as well.

im travelling to london from nottingham on sunday im trying to plan my journey on the tube website but im getting confused when im typing my destinations in it gives me a choice of similar stations i need to get from st pancras to london paddington it keeps giving me choices or st pancras&kings cross and international very confused anyone help ?

It can be a bit confusing.

Ok when arriving at St pancras follow signs for London Underground. The signs to follow are Hammersmith and City/ Circle/Metropolitan lines. these all use the same one platform. Dont follow the signs for Northern/Victoria/ Picadilly. These have a sep area.

Get on the first WESTBOUND Circle or Hammersmith and City train. Dont board the Metropolitan train or you will end up in Wembley or Watford or elsewhere. Paddington is 5 stops
Then follow signs for network rail.

Tickets , If you have thro ticket ok.
If not if time you can buy an Oyster card £3 dep plus £1,50 fare. You neednt register it. Or a paper ticket £4 . all o/w. An Oyster card can be used again and lent to friends , just top up in advance or at the station.

    HTH

PS St Pancras, Kings X and International (eurostar) are all joined together and they all share the one Underground station.

If using Oyster remember to touch out at destination.

im a tad confused... how would u b getting 'similar' stations when Kings St Pancras to paddington is simple with a choice of 2 lines?! all u gotta do is pick one. what search u using?!
Go to http://www.tfl.gov.uk and type in Kings Cross and you get about eight options - off the top of my head
    Kings Cross
    King's Cross
    Kings Cross St. Pancras
    Kings Cross Greys Inn Road
    Kings Cross rail
    Kings Cross national rail station

I believe this is the issue the OP was referring to.

This coming Sunday, the lines given are supposed to be RUNNING NORMALLY.

For Slough, you are better off getting the HAMMERSMITH & CITY line tube to Paddington.

The OP did understand that she was getting the train to St Pancras, didn't she?

yes but OP stated she was goin from st pancras to paddington... again a simple journey... y would u type in 'kings cross' when you KNOW beforehand that its st pancras?

even with the drop down menu of different kings... it clearly says 'st pancras' (ie, eurostar n national rail) OR 'st pancras underground'... (self explanatory) and since OP was travelling u underground, common sense would tell you to choose that option, NO?!

it only became confusing because of OP.
