You are quite right and that's the gamble. A couple of years back I sent all my Christmas gifts to Canada in September and they had them all in three weeks, yet a birthday gift sent a week earler and due for a birthday in December took 3 months, we assume it went via the North Pole or something!

As surface mail is so unpredictible I think that is another reason to avoid it on ebay. If for instance a buyer has received the last two or three surface mail parcels from the uK in three weeks he is likely to assume that is the usual time for parcels to arrive. So when my parcel takes the 2 months suggested by Royal Mail he is getting shirty and starting a chargeback because he doesn't believe that the parcel was sent even though I am still within RM time guidelines.

i sold an item on ebay - the buyer said it never came - i sent her a replacement and i am still waiting to find out whether she received that - she hasnt answered any emails so i guess she scammed me eh? the only thing is i tried to get a refund off royal mail but the one and only time i cant find my proof of purchase it goes missing, hence, i have no proof i posted it - so, im £8 out of pocket - gonna be more careful in future....

magoogy, I am the worlds worst person for keeping things safe but for my COPs and RD slips I have a small box file that I keep under the computer. As soon as I get back from the post Office I just add the slips to that. That also has the advantage of being in reverse date order.

Now, all I have to do is find the receipt for a skirt I want to change..I know i put my receipt somewhere safe.....
