I am after a pci 802.11g wireless card for pc which is usually connected to network via Ethernet. Due to moving pc to another part of the house I would prefer a pci 802.11g card to connect to a netgear DG384G router.

I am not sure which card is best I been happy with a usb wireless pendrive on another pc so unsure if the high speed version HERE or the normal version who be best and more Importantly compatible HERE

Any advice which is best. Cheers

When I followed the links I got two identical cards? Probably to do with the way they link.

Anyway, that is the manufacturer's site. You are best looking here:

There are all kinds of options near the top you can click to narrow the results down by speed, type of card, price etc.

This one here is a Netgear 54mbps:

I posted the link twice or well found another different link I just wondered if the higher speed Belkin would do better than the other version. I go for Netgear but Belkin seem cheaper. Thanks

    High speed

    Lower speed

Depends what you are using it for. If just for the internet then you should just get the cheapest one, as your internet connection is probably only 1 or 2mbps, so it doesn't really matter if your router and PC have an 11mbps or 54mbps connection - they will never have any data to transfer that quickly.

I be using to to transfer large files tbh and stream video from time to time as its going to be a Home threatre PC. I have a 802.11g usb wireless connection on another pc, I just thought maybe the slightly faster one maybe uncompatable as I thought there was two speeds b and g for this router.I wonder if the high speed one is some how more optimized, I just need to make sure its compatable really with the router. Thanks

I see what you mean now. The two you linked to are both 802.11g but the faster one has "HSM" to make it faster.

I don't really know much about this, but I would presume this HSM thing would only be effective if the router also has it (which it probably won't). But, then, £3.50 is not really much to lose.

Well the HSM one will still work with normal routers so I'd just get it.
