In Heanor today I bought a pack of microwave steaming bags for 89p, there are eight in the box and look every bit as good as the ones on QVC.
I also bought some packs of childrens hair slides with clips that were 10p and some lovely gold gift boxes with a £2.49 sticker on them that were 39p.these were shrink wrapped and lovely quality.0 -
Anyone know how good Rutherglen store is and is it easy to get to by bus from Buchanan Bus Station? TIA.
I went by low level train from Central Station. Rutherglen station is very close to the shop. It was worth going - a reasonably big store with a couple of other pound shops nearby, but my Dad tells me the biggest pound shop (where I found astonishingly high quality wallpaper) has closed.0 -
Do we have a make & model of the "Lady Garden trimmer" please ?
TIA

Just ask at Buchanan Street bus station which buses stop in the Main Street. The store is in the shopping arcade, past the town hall. I like the Rutherglen store, its my nearest one. I went to the Coatbridge one this week for a change but it was really busy and I'd wished I'd gone to the Rutherglen one instead!
Sorry I can't remember which bus numbers go through I get muddled up which ones go down the main street and which ones don't, there are lots of buses. Why don't you have a look on First Glasgow's website and do a route planner then it will tell you or they are usually quite helpful at the bus station.
The cafe in the centre is good for a bacon roll or a toastie if you need a wee break before you get the bus back.
There's a Poundmart outside the centre further along, a Boots, a Savers and in the centre a pretty rubbish Somerfield, Superdrug, card shops, a couple of clothes shops, butcher, fruit and veg stall which is usually really busy.
Always nice to go somewhere different for a change.0 -

Yeah sadly that pound shop has closed, was a really good one and Poundmart where Woolies used to be just isn't as good. Low level train is easy and a short walk from the station, there's now a lift at the station too which makes a difference, there are loads of stairs otherwise. I think the trains are every half hour roughly, possibly more frequent depending on the day.0 -
Edgeley Stockport
Doctor Who die cast Dalek and Cyberman about 6 or 7 inches tall. More of a collector's item than a toy. £3.99 each.
Also a large Dalek card model kit - £2.99 reduced from £12.99... would make a really good Christmas pressy for a fan."Whatever happened to string?"0 -
Went to the Coventry HB yesterday:
Knorr Jamaican Jerk seasoning 29p
Lyons Cookies 750g 99p
Maynards Sours 49p0 -
