Nestle Milo nuggets: they are true nuggets, in the sense of food industry
( = make something appealing out of refuse material),
only confectionery that is fatter than the boiled-sugar type, but not chocolate:
they are a flavourED product, ie a chocolate surrogate.
If you peel the UK label back (product is built for a non-european market where true choc is a luxury), you see that the nuggets contain palm kernel oil (the vaguely named "vegetable fat") and palm oil as substitutes for the cocoa butter
(= THE expensive and difficult-to-work-with ingredient OF chocolate that the industries like Nestle, Cadburys etc try to cut down/replace.)
Nestle tries to make the product look better by adding "the goodies!" vitamins etc,
I'd say lipstick on a pig.

PS. anybody spotting DROSTE 75% PASTILLES back in HBs around them?

But they taste so good.

I have had these MIlo nuggests abroad, most recently in Malaysia.

The reason why they are what they are like is not necesarily because its a luxury ( I Also had them in greneda where they farm cacao) but put them in a 100 degree heat and they dont melt! Any chocolate meant for the tropical market is usually like this ( ie quite rough!) thats why youll often struggle to get any sweet tratets other than wafers in the tropics!! :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Palm oil also encourages de forestation in tropical rain forest areas leading to many species including Orang Utans losing their habitat :(

I was so good, I went into Bletchley this morning and didn't come out with any sweeties! Well, not for me anyway, the kids, well, that's another matter.......

I am sure it's not a coincidence that since HB opened here just after Christmas I've put on more weight than I had in 6 years!

  • Also have 2009 AA Road Atlas (loads of em yesterday) for 49 pence in HB Leek, which is fortunate as our 18 month old ripped most of the North West out of ours and made pretty pictures with it!!!
  • I'm sure that it has probably been mentioned already in this thread but I got a 1.5m HDMI cable from HB on the East Lancs in Liverpool for £2.99. It seems like a very decent build quality for the price and works very well connecting a PS3 to a 50" LCD.

As a comparison (of sorts), I went to Richer Sounds earlier and the cheapest thay had to offer was a Cambridge Audio at £19.99 for 1m... they wanted another £10 for an extra 50cm. I know that this isn't the place for a discussion about AV cable quality but I seriously doubt that the ten-fold price tag of the CA cables would yield a ten-fold improvement in picture quality.
