10/100 LAN Card Question?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this as I really don't know much about laptops or wireless networks.

I have a wireless network in my house between two computers. I have the following:

An NTL cable interenet connection
A Belkin high-speed mode Wireless G router (802.11g) (2.4ghz) connected to a Belkin Wireless G USB Network adapter on my other computer.

I am planning to buy a laptop and it says it comes with a 10/100 LAN Card and I was wondering if this would connect to my other wireless network or not?

Any help would be very much appreciated,

A 10/100 LAN Card is for a wired network. Most new laptops (apart from budget ones) now come ready for wireless. Find a different laptop.

It will not connect wirelessly thru the 10/100 nic - that will use an ethernet patch cable to connect to your router. If you're happy to have the new laptop connected by cable then the answer to your question is yes.

If you want it to connect wirelessly then you need to get a laptop with built in wireless or buy a Cardbus (pcmcia) wireless card.

Sorry, I worded my question wrongly above. So, if I purchase a wireless card would I be able to connect it wireless then?

Yep - it will allow your laptop to connect wirelessly to your router. The card goes into the PCMCIA slot you just posted in your spec.
