Talk Talk cessation fee

When I moved house they wanted £112 line connection fee, when I said no way was I gonna pay that they wanted £70 disconnection fee, well stuff that as well I said. Refused to pay a fee for a service THEY were contracted to provide, so if I was breaking my side of the contract (was inside 18 months) then they were breaking theirs. Fine said the woman on the phone, we'll waive the fee and cancel the contract. Great happy days.

Until today when lo and behold, over 3 months after that conversation, a bill turns up for £70 disconnection fee. 25 minutes on the mobile phone to 3 foreign halfwits I was still no further forward. Customer Services then phone me (that guy was English) to explain what was going on. I say will this explanation finish with you saying I dont have to pay £70, he said no, I said see you in court.

No way am I paying that £70. Letter and email to the CEO have been fired off, Oftel have been informed and Otelo will be informed if I'm not happy with their answer.

Try posting your problem on www.talktalkmembers.com forum. They seem to sort out peoples problems there(there are TalkTalk employees on forum) and that cuts out the foreign call centres.I was tempted by TalkTalk but glad i went for Sky instead!.........Neil

TalkTalk are an awful company to do business with, shady charges they try and add, useless billing system, chasing for months on end for money you don't owe and useless customer services. I was glad to get rid. Took a while to get incorrect details taken off my credit file they had added on - they said I had missed payments for several months - yet I was no longer a customer and was always in credit anyway and owed nothing. Never can get anything sorted out in one phone call. The sooner TalkTalk would disappear the better the country would be when it comes to getting a decent phone and broadband service. I went for what was going to be a good deal, but at the end of the day the deal is too good to be true as the service you get is woeful.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)

    Hi Stephen
Can you do some investigating on my behalf also as I am in the very same predicament As King, But the icing on the cake for me was when I joined talktalk I was instructed to get the line active first by BT, & guess what landed on the mat a few months later with my TT account up and running a lovely bill from BT for £286.00 to buy out there contract, ok I can take that on the chin it was my ignorance of how the system worked as I was with cable since 1995, but the woman who told me to get BT involved must have known this would happen?
Anyway I have to move & TT want £122.00 to move me or £70 disconnection fee, as I am still locked in a contract, so I cant win ether way, in the 8 months I have been with TT I have lost the connection numerous times for long periods, it took them over a month to get the bb sorted, hmm
If I remember TT had a price increase Feb or March time will this price difference in what TT claim to charge in the contract & actually charge not render the contract now Void? & unable to charge the £70 disconnection fee?
Its expensive & stressful enough moving home with out all this extra grief!
    Any help would be great
    Regards
    Karl
