lloyds visa debit

i got my lloyds debit card today and its a visa debit. it begins with 4659 so i was wondering will it require authorisation every time ?

also can i use the card at private ATMs like the ones in shops. i tried it today and the machine couldnt recognise the card!

Have you unlocked the Pin at an ATM?

If not it might only work in cashpoints until you do.

Hi , i have just received the same card and was advised that you can only use lloyds atms to withdraw cash but you can get cashback when you go shopping ect , hope that helps

no i dont think i have to unlock my pin as it says i can use the card straight away.

that sucks i can only use a lloyds atm. my nearest one is a 10 min walk away!!

and can someone answer my first question please i want to know if i can use it at places where authorisation cant be done instantly.

Each time I have had a new card from Lloyds, I have had to unlock the pin at Lloyds cashpoint. All you do is go to the cashpoint and put in the pin number and go to 'pin services' as an option and select 'unlock pin' - they don't tell you this in any written correspondence, I only found out when I asked at the branch because my 'new' card was refused at a supermarket a couple of years ago and I couldn't understand why as I had just been paid and there was no way I didn't have the funds available.
