Copy local disk C to external HD..

I would just like reassurance that I have done it correctly?
I copied disk C to external HD by using a Ghost image. My hard drive on my laptop was partioned into two (had copied all information from C to D using Ghost clone) can I now make it one again as I will have everything copied onto the EHD?

ok so if i have this right
1. you have succesfully ghosted your laptop's c drive to an external drive
2. you want to merge the partioned drives on your laptop into 1 (remove the partition in other words)
3. you then want to use the ghosted image of your c drive and put it back onto the single laptop drive
