Advice - where do I get soda crystals etc?

I agree Wilkinsons are pretty good for soda crystals, as they are for most cleaning products. I always keep an eye open for their promo stuff as their two for a £1.00 things are usually good value.
I bought some Lynx shower gels a couple of weeks ago two for £1.75 they will go into my eldest two grandsons 'tree presents'0 -
Hi I have been lurking and just want to say how lucky you all are with your choice of shops. Over here in Northern Ireland there are no Poundland or Wilkos stores, but B & M have arrived and they are wonderful.0

washing soda softens the water. so you should only use half the powder you would normally use. a plumber told me years ago that if you used washing soda, you wont need all that grossly expensive stuff to get rid of limescale (calgon etc). can anyone tell me if thats a true statement??xx0

sort of on topic query...I have been getting my Stardops from Sainsburys (75p). Mainly because the 3 Mr Ts in the area don't stock it, neither do Asda, Morrisons or Somerfield. We don't have a Wilko's. My local branch of Mr S ran out and when I asked, the supervisor looked it up and said if I could travel 5 miles across to the next county I might be able to get some (if the staff haven't put them all by for themselves), but too many people are buying it and not getting the £3 single use sprays, so it looks as though I won't be able to get it anymore. She also mentioned that I might like to stock up on washing soda as they wanted to discontinue that as well.
EEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Don't think it's true, sorryLimescale is calcium carbonate (an alkali). Washing soda is sodium carbonate, another alkaline substance. You need an acid (such as vinegar) to shift limescale.

I think the fact that washing soda softens the water therefore helps prevent the build up of limescale caused by hard water could be what your plumber meant.

Soda crystals are fantastic and I've been using them for ages for all sorts of grubby jobs (many already mentioned above).
It really grates me that whatever shop you go to, they are invariably ALWAYS on the bottom shelf tucked away...
If you think about how much money there is to be made (for the retailers and manufacturers I mean) in the detergent market alone for washing powders and the like, just imagine what an implosion there would be if everyone suddenly realised one simple product could do so many things (which of course, it can, but not enough people know...)....
Who'd buy all the other boxes of chemically boosted stuff?....there might be anarchy, riots in the aisles as everyone clamboured to get soda crystals...the big chemical companies wouldn't like it at all - they are reliant upon our ignorance if you ask me!
The more we can raise the profile about soda crystals, essential oils (which I use instead of softener - just add 5 or 6 drops of my favourite one in the conditioner tray and the clothes come out great)....and also pierre d'argent another great chemical free multipurpose cleaner etc etc.....THE BETTER!!!!
Better for our health, the environment and our purses too.
28p on the Crystals is the best I've EVER seen them - go stockpile!

Hi all, I was recently reading a thread which extolled the virtues of Soda Crystals, so off I went to Sainsbury's to get some, only I couldn't find them. I looked with the cleaning products and with the washing powders but couldn't seem to see any. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.0
