Best indoor aerial for TV

Hi all
Hope you can help.
I live in flat where there is only one socket in the wall for connection to an external aerial (presumably on the top of the block somewhere).
I have just bought a new TV for the bedroom (the socket to the external aerial is in the living room) and do not want to drill holes in the wall and have an extension from the aerial point.
Can anyone recommend a good indoor aerial to fit to the TV to allow us to pick up digital channels on the bedroom TV (it has integrated freeview). We tried an aerial we got from argos for about 15 quid on the non-digital old portable TV that we had prior to the new TV, and it didn't even work as well as the TVs own, attached aerial, despite saying it was an amplified signal type aerial.
Any info/ advice appreciated.
Thanks

Have you ever wondered why houses/flats have external aerials? Unless you are located almost within sight of your local transmitter, internal aerials are a waste of time and money. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Try one of these.

I have this one, it works perfectly.0 -
It is all down to your location, in most situations an indoor aerial is a complete waste of time as espresso suggests.0

How do these work? If i have it plugged into the external aerial point in the living room, to send to the bedroom TV, is it possible to have both TVs on at the same time?

They transmit the picture and sound, so both TV's can be on at the same time.
You do not connect it to the aerial.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

AV senders relay pictures and sound from a tv tuner, dvd, video etc...they don't relay tv transmission signals which aerials pick up. I think espresso is mad because you've not been presented with the full picture! You could use an AV sender however you would have to have a freeview tuner (or tv with built in freeview tuner) hooked upto the aerial socket in the lounge. But you couldnt have the lounge and bedroom televisions tuned to different channels (unless you have a dual tuner freeview box with seperate output for each tuner) - if only one tv channel is going to be watched at a time then it's not a problem.
Personally i'd go for the extension cable route.

Thanks for your really useful reply. If I went the AV sender route, does the TV in the lounge (with built in freeview connected to the only external aerial) have to be turned on for signal to be recieved at the other end (the bedroom TV)?
BTW It was probably my fault at the angry face- I was kinda getting mixed up with what the AV sender did....and hoping it was a type of device that you could plug into the aerial socket which would beam the signal to the remote telly....now that would be neat!0 -

I was assuming that you had Freeview tuner or DVD recorder as well as the TV.
The AV sender will only send the channel that the unit feeding it is tuned to.
On my set up it is fed from the freeview tuner; if the remote TV is fed with, say, BBC1 then anyone who wants to watch, say ITV, on the main downstairs TV has to select the DVD recorder and then select ITV on there.
Sorry if I confused you !0 -
Another similar (ish) question on this one.
We are building a log cabin in the garden for use as a gym and have bought an lcd tv and a dvd/freeview thingy - we don't have an aerial in the house at all - it's Sky all the way, will an indoor aerial be enough in this circumstance?0
