Why more than one prize?

Could someone tell me why some people can win more than one prize in the same competition & others not win anything.
This is not sour grapes, I just thought when you had won once, your name should be taken out of the hat.
It does not seem fair to me.

Sometimes its a mistake and sometimes you are just luck enough to be picked twice x0

Well it does prove how random it is at least I suppose - you've got to be in it win it.
I don't say that because I have won multiple prizes, but then it doesn't bother me at all.
My husband said only yesterday the same thing though - he thinks once someone has won once they shouldn't win again.:cool:0 -

What competitions do you mean? If it's the Impulse comp, it was a daily and you were allowed to enter every day.

Pot luck I guess. It depends on what type of competition you're talking about, things like 'play once a day' (impulse, virgin vie etc...) are open to everyone who wants to play religiously every day (or in some case every hour!). I usually play the one a day ones but not the every hour cos I can't be bothered!
I try not to enter comps where I've already got the prize ie. a specific DVD I don't need as I already have it/won it.
I admit that when mistakes are made by the company by sending 2 of something then that's their problem, not the compers who enter. But.....If I received something 'big' twice I would definately notify them about it (although I haven't had that happen yet!).Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -
One of them was impulse, which was a daily, but someone today said they had won 2 fortnum & mason hampers. Was that a daily?
Another one was the trident gum, which I do not think was a daily.0 -

The hampers were part of the impulse daily comp, I think Trident is a monthly comp. I guess its just pot luck. I won a few times on impulse but usually i win nothing on comps like that. I stopped playing everyday once I had won the prize I wanted.
I think some people also enter in their partners name too so maybe thats how they win more than 1 prize
In some ways I do agree that it should be 1 prize per person, esp on big prize comps. Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

I suppose it does seem a bit unfair as more people could win if they were only allowed to enter once, but I rarely bother with those comps as I don't have the patiennce to sit there for hours. It doesn't bother me as I'm only after the reeeeeeeeeeally big prizes, which to me would be a holiday or cash

Also why do some people seem to keep winning holidays/big prizes? I read one person had won 7!
Not sour grapes, good luck to them!
But it does beg the question about how they pick the names? Is it by location perhaps, i.e. if you're a long way for them to deliver the prize, do they put your name back in as they don't want to pay the extra costs in delivery etc?A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0
