Stoozing Student Account Internet Free Overdraft

Hello

I have a student account with HSBC with an interest free overdraft. However what I have done at the good advice of Martin is stash it into a savings account. The thing I wanted to know was since I am overdrawn on the student account which I tend not to use at all for months - can't HSBC ask for the money back since I am not using the account. Any advice would be helpful to prevent this happening, e.g. having a standing order of say £50 going into the account monthly or just transferring money monthly using faster payments between accounts once a month?.

Yes they can ask for it at anytime. No idea how to keep it active tbh.

Yes, HSBC were the worst for me, always on my back, so I ended up paying it back immediately after graduating. What you can do (if you have a student loan) is make sure it goes into that account then withdraw it each time. Natwest chased me every 3 months or so, I just made a payment of £50/ quarterly to keep them off my back then maxed it again at the end of the yr.

HSBC can ask you to return all your cards etc and close the account, they can also suspend it to stop you withdrawing any more and only allow money in as well as threaten with credit agencies.
