Teesside Uni has an Endsleigh office run by uni students on campus.
I have been with them for a year, and when my room was broken into, Endsleigh dealt with my claim very efficiently and quickly...the whole matter was resolved within a week.
I paid under £15 for the full year, for room contents and on top of that I have paid an extra £5 for world wide lappy cover!!!!
I can not fault them in any way....but like I have mentioned there is an office on my campus!
do you think maybe I should wait until freshers week - I've just searched my Uni's website and it doesn't mention anything like this at all.
I feel like I'm in limbo until I actually start the course!
I would love to get a new computer but I'm having to wait until the start of the course for that too... I'm soooo impatient! :rolleyes:Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later date
now at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -

YES I would wait...tbh freshers week will be able to tell you what is available insurance wise and for the best price...........as an extra note, I am getting my next mobile phone through uni as its sooooo much cheaper than high street stores.0 -
My son is off to Univ in Sept. He is going into Halls, and the Univ website says that they have a policy with Endsleigh to cover the student's possesions.
Unfortunately I cannot read the policy on Endsleigh's website as there is a problem with the software (or mine?).
Does anyone know what is covered under the Accommodation Provider's Policy, and does anyone know if we need to think about extra insurance for laptops, tvs, mobiles, bikes etc?
Thanks for any help.

it might depend on the cover the Uni has with Endsleigh - so it might not be listed on the website - best to contact the Uni and ask for the information - they should supply this to you.
Has your son received his halls info yet? maybe a 'welcome pack' of some sort.
laptops, mobiles and bikes would be separate as these would be taken out of the room by your Son - I think it's only the room that would be covered.
best to call the Uni though and double check.
also, mboro (see post above) said they had a Endsleigh rep/office at his Uni so it might be best to wait until the start of Uni.
I'm going to wait for the start of freshers week before getting mine (I'm not in Halls though) as you never know what offers will be on!Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later date

Hi,
I would recommend Endsleigh...Everything went fine this end.. Dont forget Quidco!0 -
Thanks for this, they work out very cheap for me too. I'll see what's on offer nearer the time, but SIS look good atm.we were shopping around for insurance for my daughter who starts 2nd year in sept in shared flat the best quote we got was from hxxp://www.sisdirect.co.uk/ they were £60 cheaper than any of the others
Means you gave them the most sponsorship? Endsleigh were the second highest of the quotes I got with the highest excess, and I really can't see any reason to pay all that extra.Endsleigh ... are the only student insurer endorsed by the NUS which has got to be fairly meaningful.0 -

ditto this.. I need something with low excess (nil if possible).. The whole point is I'm a poor student - if I'm paying more for the policy, I'd expect to pay less if something actually happened.Entering competitions galore, not won anything yet!

I got my insurance through ensleigh last year on the day I arrived and luckily never had to claim but they don't seem too bad to me.
I'm moving into shared accommodation next year and I thought that the easiest thing to do would be to get contents insurance for the whole house and then we'd split the cost between the 3 of us. However, most insurance sites I've visited seem more concerned with insuring your contents individually. What would be the best thing to do? (The furniture etc belongs to us as well as the house was unfurnished)0 -
I've just seen Karma insurance advertised in the UCAS newsletter - but I've never heard of them before.
how do you find out who is the best one to go for?
I hate trying to pick stuff like this
The good thing with Karma is that they offer a paymonthly option, so you can pay only a few pound a month, no big chuncks at once. Also, you can build your own package, they'll give you the basics, and then you can add on the extras, like laptop cover etc..
Endsleighs well known on the student market, but personally - i think they aint all their made out to be!
Cant hurt to just get a quote i guess!0
