Well i feel like a second citizen compared to you lot. My make up is all rimmel, collection 2000, natural collection and boots 17. My only concession is Liz Arden 8 Hour Cream and, if i'm really feeling flush, No.7 under eye concealer - almost as good as Touche Eclat0

I only use the good stuff!! I dont have any cheapo make up, cause i think its the one area where you get what you pay for!!
Brands? Its a mix of chanel, benefit, smashbox and laura geller!
And my nails are only OPI'd!
Snap, snap and snap ... all stored in a Lulu Guinness roll bag!
But have you seen this? I have to have that bag!x
Gone ... or have I?0 -

That is OUTRAGIOUSLY expensive:eek:
Update, not one bit impressed with Touche Eclaite & won't buy it again.
Elemental Beauty powder under eye concealer "bright eyes" is heaps better;)0 -
Two lots of makeup?
I don't even have 1 lot
Last time I wore makeup was my wedding day 7 years ago and that was barely anything. Slight touch of lippy and mascara.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
No no nooooooooooooo!!
Just one make up bag (plus several drawers of stuff I've tried or use occassionally!)
Routine is - cleanse and moisturise with Liz Earle, then
Laura Mercier foundation primer
Tiny bit of L'Oreal light diffusing concealer under the eyes
Tesco Make Up concealer on any blemishes, blended with finger
Bare Escentuals foundation buffed over with a fluffy kabuki brush
Bare Escentuals warmth under cheekbones (and a tiny dab across my nose and chin), and glee on apples of cheeks for a rosy glow
Tiny dusting of Bobbi Brown shimmer brick across cheekbones, nose, chin and eyelids (gorgeous shimmer)
Eyeliner (top of lashes) is Mac eyeshadow in Brun (dark chocolate brown)
Smudge of eyeshadow under my eyes - either a pinky colour, a nude shimmery shade or a gentle taupe colour
Curl lashes with Shu Uemura curlers and then a couple of coats of Blinc mascara in black
Run through eyebrows with clear eyebrow gel (I dye my brows anyway)
all done.
I might make a bit more of my eyes for a party or night out - something sparkly or colourful, but can't be @rsed during the day!0 -

Laura Mercier foundation primer
The reason I have two is because I've been on a major testing phase recently & if its "the ultimate" it goes in the good bag, if its second place it goes into the work make-up bag. If its lower than this it gets offered about or chucked in the bin:rolleyes:(& I'm peed off fot buying it:mad: ).
Anyway, whats the Laura Mercier primer like, do tell???????
I was unsure whether to try that one or the Smash Box one - heard both are good, so ended up buying Benefit Dr Feelgood:o
Dying for a real live review?
Plus have you ever tried the Smash Box Photo Primer to compare?
I'm not that sure I really "get" primers
What do you think it does?0 -
Mrs E - you know now thats THREE cheaper brands you have admitted to preferring?

Not tried any others. My skin is very sensitive so I tend not to brand switch too much.
I completely "get" them. They form a barrier between your moisturiser and your makeup, so your skin can't 'eat' it. I do have the odd day where I don't use it and I can tell within hours. I don't have to patch my makeup up AT ALL, all day or night if I use the primer.
Some of them smooth the surface of your skin too I think.
The LM primer is lovely - there are 3 kinds. Oil free, moisturising and just a normal one. I use the normal one (after moisturiser). It's a cross between a gel and a cream and you just smooth a little blob over your face, leave for a few seconds, and then do your make up.
I love it.0 -
I am a complete make up junkie and have multiples of many products scattered across my make up drawer, make up basket, and cosmetic purses.
I have an ikea small drawer unit (just over a foot wide and high) - it has three small drawers at the top row, and one large drawer in middle and bottom rows. I store lipsticks and lip glosses in the small drawers at the top, eyeshadows in the middle large drawer, and face powders and blushers in the bottom large drawer.
The products I use most often end up in a little basket on the windowsill, next to my mirror. (I need natural lightto put on my make up)
I also have a brush roll (bought from my local art shop for a fiver) that I use to store my make up brushes, although the brushes I use most often are just into an old mug, brush side up.
Morning beauty routine:
Wash my face with a muslin cloth with warm water (no cleanser)
Splash SK-II beauty essence on my face, followed by Origins White Tea Skin Guardian, and LaRoche Posay moisturiser (great stuff - just discovered it a few weeks ago and it's really reduced the redness in my face), and a LaRoche Posay spf 50 suncreen.
Then, either Bare Escentuals or Everyday Minerals mineral foundation, followed by a Shu Uemura or Bobbi Brown blush on my cheeks, and a bronzer (either Rimmel, Hoola, or a free one from No 17) to my forehead, nose, chin, and the area under my cheekbones, blending into my jawline. (on days that I can be bothered, I use Bobbi Brown creamy concealer under my eyes)
On my eyes, i dab a bit of MAC Paintpot in Painterly as a primer (ensures my eye shadow doesn't smudge) and then go over my lids with a nude colour eyeshadow (I bought a great Virgin Vie eyeshadow palatte in their recent sale - it's got 26 colours in it and the quality is great).
Then, Mineral Veil all over my face, and sometimes I add a bit of MAC liquidlast liner to my upper lash line, but usually I just finish with Mascara.
I tend to have a mixture of cheap make up as well as the more pricey stuff in my make up stash. I love No 17 - great colours, good quality, and oh so cheap, but am also a die hard Benefit, Nars, MAC, Bobbi Brown, and Chanel fan. I don't save the expensive stuff for going out and the cheap stuff for work, I just use whatever I fancy on the day.
Products that I've bought but hardly used (so a waste of money)
Body Shop Blusher
No 7 creamy stick blusher
Benefit Bad Gal eyeliner (smudges terribly)
there are lots more - need to go home and check my make up drawer! Not buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!0
