Splash-out & save make-up, do you have two lots?

Splash-out & save make-up, do you have two lots?

With the two threads on here about make-up I've been trying different bits & bobs.

I now run a 2 class make-up bag.

Luxury for non-work, cheaper stuff (or stuff I'm using up) for work.

Anyone else do this?

The creams & skincare is the same, Liz Earle morning & the OCM with Liz Earle after at night (except C&P).

Primers, Got the benefit Br Feelgood at the moment, just for NW, don't bother for W. Any recommendations?

Foundation, I was advised to take my fussy daughter to look a Perscriptives foundation, so I did. She has found the ultimate foundation & so have I, but I had
But now my Boots intelligent Colour is now in the work bag & my new perscriptives one is my non-work bag. Its GREAT, anyone who has problems finding a foundation, TRY THIS;)

Eye Concealer, YSL touche eclaite for NW, don't bother for W

Blemish concealers, Elemental beauty mineral concealer for both its FAB, (But I have read recently that Estee Lauder do a great one in a tube, I'm tempted to try, anyone used it?

Powder, Laura Mercier for non-work, Boots No.7 for work. Both applied with a large brush, much better than a puff.

Blusher/Bronzer, Gurlaine Terrocotta for NW, Benefit Dallas for W. (Daughter bought a perscriptives one thats lovely:o I may need to buy it:rolleyes:

Tweezers, Mt Tweezerman pink ones & the Mr Tweezerman mirror.

Eyebrows, Boucht the Colorsport eyebrow pencil from Boots on Saturday, got the No.7 one, both good, will report back;)

Eyeshadow, really lazy & just dust whatever bronzer I've used in my eyes, with the blusher brush. But for special, I use a 4 pot set I got from Body Shop of different browns & golds. Its four little colours set in a clear plastic square box.

Eyelash Curlers, Shu Uemura, THE ONLY EYELASH CURLERS:D

Mascara, Revlon Colorstay black/brown. Use for both W & NW, not quite as false effect as I would like, but got staying power.

Eyeliner, Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner black/brown, again for both W & NW.

Lipliner, Revlon Colour stay in Nude. Only for NW, don't both for W.

Lipsticks, got lots. Got Estee Lauder, got Lancome Juicey Tubes, got quite a few L'orelle (sp?) No.7, Revlon Colorstay & Maybeline. I like slightly sheer, slightly glossy type of ones, those are never long lasting:mad: I like fairly light browny pink nude type of colours.

Perfume, Channel No.5 for NW & M&S Fiorelle (or whatever) for W (A girl I worked with wore this & its such a pretty smell, the box looks a bit grannyish, but its lovely.

As you can see, some of mine cross over & some are just for off work. I need an extra makeup bag (just a small one) for the stuff thats just for NW.
I have a big benefit make-up bag, I think its lucious Lana, its great, I think you can only get them on ebay now & I have an Anya Hindrich small one that I used to keep for holidays, but I think my luxury stuff would fit nicely in it;)

So how has those two threads changed you, have you tried stuff out & started running a luxury or ultimate bag & a second class use it up for work or mid week for housewives?

Have you tried the smashbox primer?
    Do you use primer?

I tried the Chanel mascara, but I didn't like it, I gave it to my daughter & she didn't rate it either.

I really like Benefit, never tried Laura Geller.

I get my nails done at a local-ish Chinese nail-bar, been going there a couple of years, they do an acrylic bottom & a gel top. So you get the hard wearing-ness of the acrylic combined with the shiny indestructable coating of the gel nails.:D

    I use Dr Feelgood!!
But my blusher is Smashbox 'O Glow'.... Bloody brilliant stuff, I cant reccomend it enough....
I dont use foundation, i use Laura Geller 'Balance and Brighten' which seems to even out my skin tone...

I use Benefit 'Erase Paste' for my zits and circles,
Benefit 'Bad Gal' eyeliner and mazzy
Benefit 'Dallas' under my blusher and over my powder
And Benefit 'cupids bow' and gloss to finish....

    BUT....

Thats just my 'everyday' make up at the moment...

Ive got pretty much every Benefit product you can buy (i WISH I was kidding bout that!!)

And I change my 'look' according to whether im going out, what the weathers like etc etc etc....

Me and my make up have a long standing relationship that no man can compete with!

I don't really have separate make-up bags, but mainly because I don't wear make-up for work! If I wore make-up to work though it'd probably be the same stuff, I may get a cheaper tinted moisturiser though, mine's Daniel Sandler that I get off my beautician and it's a bit pricy for work!

My make-up is towards the better end though, Lancome, Benefit, Daniel Sandler, Dior. And I love my Ruby and Millie brushes for applying! I've wasted plenty of money on cheaper make-up but I always go back to the better stuff, it just makes me feel much better and gives a better, lasting finish. I have 2 'cheap' make-up staples in my bag right now, one is a concealer from Soap and Glory and the other is (I think!) L'oreal eye-shadow, a trio made to complement blue eyes and it really does look pretty!

I'd never heard of Smashbox until a couple of months ago when my Mum when to America and brought back some lovely samples for me, I'm just biding my time before I go crazy and stock up on their stuff!

I put it on my legs in the summer!

though i am a SAHM i still have separate sets of make ups.
my usual and going out stuff are in a large cosmetic case - got from debenhams few years back - like a hat box with a flipped zipped lid and i've made 'compartments' with those 'ferroro rocher' plastic tubs! i can fit about 3: eyeshadows; lipsticks; & face stuff - powder, foundation, blush etc, my brushes are in those small (v.old!:rotfl: ) 36mm film pots.....:rotfl: :rotfl:

they are my 'good' branded stuff for going out and even school run - got to 'feel' like a yummy mummy at least!

i have a separate cosmetic case - for holidays, weekends away, short trips etc. - usually stuff that i can still use - ie not gone off, and are nearly finishing - you're bound to use whats left when away from home. can sometimes contain samples.

and i have a small emergency 'purse' makeup case in handbag -like lipgloss, small mascara (clinique bonus time samples!), 'short & nearly finished' lip and eye liners etc.

that way my make up is in 'rotation' and some times it's fun to sit down and sharpen and clean up stuff and 'rotate' or chuck them if gone off.
make up, still in 'date' but good enough to use and still some left - can still be put to good use.

btw haven't tried many of the brands mentioned above, but my favourite is clinique, or Bourjois. i have a few no17 nail stuff but no other 'cheap' stuff - mainly as i don't like the smell of the other brands and clinique is fragrance free but Bourjois has a yummy cherry fragrance (i'm fussy about smelly lipsticks esp loreal - yuck!)

i just have one bag, but i only buy a limited number of items - i just time the buying when they have gift offers. i haven't bought a mascara in about 5 years as i get clinique powders at bonus time. that has also provided me with eye shadows, blushers and lip gloss (although i do very occasionally buy them on their own!). i also sell some of the bonus items on ebay if i don't want them, which makes it more affordable. i won't buy juicy tubes from lancome any more since a couple went off (can't really explain any better than they suddenly smelt seriously bad!), but i have a stack of free clinique ones to use instead.

i am now in love with RMK, but i'm not allowed back in until christmas at the next selfridges beauty evening (where i also get loads of great stuff in the goody bags - everyone should go!). i also 'encourage' my OH to buy me perfumes that i want for christmas which helps too!

btw - glad the perscriptives counter worked out!! although you weren't meant to buy too ;)
