Hiya mitchaa. I am looking again at my award. The hours are correct, the childcare correct, our income for 08 - 09 is stated as £26000 because they dont know about my drop and my husband has not got a payrise yet so they dont know about that either, and also my husband claims the childcare vouchers so actually he earns around £18600 after vouchers which is why we only pay £17 towards childcare a week, and my income is down as £7400.

So no WTC or childcare element.
    It says :-

    child elements
    1 qualifying child 06/04/08 - 17/06/08 417.56
    2 qualifying children 18/06/08 - 05/04/09 3340.48

    family elements
    Basic 06/04/08 - 05/04/09 (365 days) 547.50
    Baby 18/06/08 - 05/04/09 (292 days) 438.00

    TOTAL CHILD ELEMENTS 4743.54
    Reduction due to income 2493.20
    Amount for period 2250.34

(Sorry dont know where I got other figure from)

This working out makes sense, I totally know where they get their figures from. When you break it down to a daily rate, I do understand it. But I did think it seemed high since our claim was only worth £547 until the day I gave birth (18-06-08).

    So your award is £2250, not £3300?:rotfl: (That's a big difference ;) )

The £1090 that you should definitely get anyway leaving a remainder £1160 that you receive as a child element.

I believe this is correct with a £26000 declared income so yes you should get the SMG award :)

    Lucy...

Here is the reason why you are now awarded with the higher award

    1 Child.........£17,474-£22,826
    2 Children....£17,474-£28,179
    3 Children....£17,474-£33,532

By having a 2nd child you're eligible to earn upto £28,179 and still receive some of the child element.

If you had declared the £28500, then you wouldn't have been entitled.
