Will I be charged

All my bills came out on Friday and it took my to £2 over my overdraft. I realised this on friday and immediately transferred money from my savings so that I was within my overdraft. So technically I was over my overdraft from midnight when the bills came out till about 7 in the morning when i transferred money. Will I be charged for going over my overdraft? I bank with Nationwide.

Nationwide, like many others require money to be in the account the working day before withdrawal. So it looks like you will be charged. If you are and it is your first time, ask them nicely and you should get away with it.
  • Thanks, i thought this might be the case, Yeah its my first time so i will ask them. Will this also affect my credit history? Applying for a remortgage at the end of the year?

It shouldn't affect your credit rating. Chances are it won't even be reported to the CRA's.

As an aside, is your overdraft at 0%? If not, why on earth are you saving at 5% whilst incurring 2-3 times this figure in agreed overdraft debit interest. It doesn't make sense.
  • i bank with nationwide and once went a couple of pence over my overdraft as soon as i realised like yourself i transferred money from my savings to cover it but i wasnt charged by the bank for this error
