How do I stop MAME emulator running too fast?

Hi all, I've been playing some old arcasde games, however MAME is running them all too fast. How do I go about getting them to run at their original speed?

It's MAME32, but I've still not found away of slowing them down without having to pay for processor throttling software

Have you tried the Mame forum?

Also, if you haven't already invested, I would highly reccomend one of the arcade joysticks, it makes such a difference.

Slickstick the mutts nuts but I have not found anywhere in the UK stocking it, so comes from the US and is big money.

Thanks all, I was being a thicko. I turned off the option to sync to monitor refresh and all was well
