Payment Holiday - Good Idea right now?

I was going to say ask about a payment holiday but try and keep it to 2-3 months so that you are only not paying mortgage whilst doing up room to rent.
BUT if you and your ex are spliting up and he has someone else who is digging her nails in then I would be tempted to say sell up and move on.
Questions to look at long term are: Can you ever afford the mortgage and bills on your own? If the answer is no then I would sell now.
If you take in a lodger are you going over the tax free rent-a-room allowance? Can you afford the increase in water and heating bills? Can you afford voids when lodgers come and go? If you are un-sure of any of these do your sums first!!0
