Hi,
Does anyone have any idea why my floor lamp has stopped working? I have tried changing the bulbs and the fuse on the plug but it still wont work. (I have tried 5 different bulbs and 3 fuses)
My GF switched it on yesterday and the bulb blew and does not work since.
any help would be great i have not got the receipt or box so cannot take it back to B&Q. But i could have had it longer than a year not 100%

Could be a chafed cable, hence the fuse popping?
Any sign of cable damage? Can you extract the whole cable from the lamp? It might also be worth while putting a new plug on it and cutting off the moulded plug. I've known once that the moulded plug was not well made!A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -

No sign of any cable damage
Yes tried a different socket, but we have the phone plug into the same socket (double) and that works fine.
Fuse board is fine
They are G9 bulbs, how would i know the transformer has gone?0 -
G9 are mains voltage bulbs, so there won't be a transformer.A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0

Does it have a fault on the in-line switch/dimmer control? G9 base socket open circuit. Got a test meter handy, couple of quid from maplin/B&Q ?0
