Hello all
Can anyone help my sister. She has a laptop connected to a router, all the lights are lit- net connection, dsl, power and wireless but she cannot get connected to the net and the laptop is making a loud buzzing noise. She does not know what make the router is , it was supplied by Kingston upon Hull -Karoo ISP.
Has anyone any ideas how she can get back onto the internet?
Thanks to all who reply.

It could be a number of things, the most likely being the firewall, check if she is using a firewall and if so turn the firewall off whilst you try to connect, if you get a connection you can then find a more suitable firewall as it is obviously important to have this protection, there are some free firewalls that are very good, if you need info let me know..
The other thing could be that you need to switch the wireless on (sometimes on laptops there is a switch - usually on the side of the laptop or possibly a button on the laptop that you will need to switch on to get a wireless connection.
If all else fails, you could contact your internet service provider as they may be able to talk you through some steps to get connected.0 -
