Hi hopefully someone can help me out.
I have a hotpoint wm63 washing machine and today it keeps tripping the electrics e.g plugs and lights.
Can someone tell me what it might be.
Thanks

There is quite a few things it could be, have a look at the wiring to see if any of it is chaffed, you would really need to check all the wiring and components in the machine though with a multimeter (remember to put the power off before touching any of the wiring etc)
You would probably get a better and more thorough answer here though in the forums www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk0 -
I forgot to add, my dishwasher was doing the same, the mains filter/suppressor had blown, a new one cost £3.99 from currys masterpart + £4.49 delivery (I couldn't get one locally) you could maybe try this first. It was obvious mine had blown as it was black and the bottom part of the plastic had been blown out slightly, I believe this doesn't always happen though and sometimes they just fail, so if no obvious fault it has to be tested/replaced. If you are happy with electrics you could bypass this and connect the wires without the filter between to test, obviously if the machine works ok with the filter bypassed the chances are it's this part that has failed (again remember power off when working with the wiring)
just to give you a idea what it may resemble here is a universl one from ukwhitegoods site http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Washing+Machine+Parts/AEG/Capacitors/1602487+-+Universal+Mains+Interference+Suppressor.html0
