I bought a new Recipe book!

It's a fancy one from Paperchase at nearly £10  but it's real pretty and I did need one :) If I manage to get enough nice recipies in there I might copy them all into one for my sister in law too as a wedding present as she's getting married soon.

Has anyone else made one of these for other people and what did you put in? Did any of your recipes prove a surprising hit?

    Hi Tine,

There are some good ideas for making a recipe book that might help on this thread:

It sounds lovely Tine! Enjoy using it! A recipe book sounds a great idea for your sister's present too.:T

There are thousands and thousands of recipes on the web - the bbc food site, the uktv food site, delia has loads on her site, jamie oliver - the list goes on and on. I personally will not be buying another recipe book as long as i live.

:rotfl: anna - this isn't a recipe book as such... this one you write your OWN recipies in :) It has like a ring binder thingy so you can move the pages round as well as bits to store clippings in. I've had a look on their website and I can't see it on there although I KNOW it used to be on it
Being as my SIL isn't an avid internet user (not sure she even has access at the moment) then telling her to look stuff up isn't an option and personally I'd like to keep a written record of recipies for future generations :)
I have a little book in the loft of my grans and great grans recipies so despite never meeting my great gran I can still have a go at deciphering her recipies... unfortunately I struggle reading them as it's old style writing :( But maybe one day...

Oh wow, what a great idea! My great nan had a battered old faithful recipe book, all written in her beautiful old style handwriting- what I wouldn't give for even a glimpse of it now! I have been toying with starting my own for ages, I think I should get started, especially as my recipe 'collection' is still relatively embryonic! :embarasse I guess we all had to start somewhere eh?!

I love the idea of having a recipe book as well as a book of shadows type thing to hand down to the next generation. Whether they appreciate it or not!! ;)

That kind of idea... but not that one :) It's black and white with a picture of I think Artichokes on the cover - right idea though!

Can't even find one on Ebay to show you!

Obviously a book of shadows is a different kettle of fish altogether - I think my husband might object to that one - certainly at the moment. MIL would on the other hand probably have a heartattack so maybe that's a mitigating factor ;)
